We have seen puppy scammers impersonating registered breeders, using their registered breeder numbers to trick people into a false sense of safety. With this in mind, The Australian Designer Breeders have developed the PROJECT PROTECT Tool.
How PROJECT PROTECT Works
The Project Protect Tool was developed to confirm the registered ADBC breeder through a code selected by the checker. This tool is the first of its kind in the breeding industry, and works to combat puppy scammers who impersonate registered breeders through fraudulent use of their breeder number, or intellectual property.
Follow the step by step guide below to see the Project Protect Tool in action.
- Step 1: Enter an ADBC registered breeder number in the Search box.
- Step 2: Press Search
- Step 3: Scroll under the breeders credentials to the Project Protect form
- Step 4: Enter your name and email, and slide the slider to a number of your choosing
- This number is your code. The real ADBC registered breeder will receive this code and repeat it back to you.
